Kendall
Davis (Lead Vocalist)
Kendall Davis got her music education in Seattle
at the Cornish School of Allied Arts where she studied opera and jazz. She
sings in eight languages, including 'scat', and has 30 years
of professional singing experience - which means she started her
pro career at 2. uh huh. She drove her teachers nuts by singing
rock, jazz, motown, and opera simultaneously! Her passion for singing
whatever style of music she liked drove her to become a voice
fatigue specialist, teaching working singers to avoid nodes and other
serious vocal problems. Her students include Roger Fisher (of
Heart, with whom she recorded and performed live in the early 90's),
Bill and Melinda Gates (yes...THAT Bill Gates) and local Phoenix blues
legend, Carvin Jones. She released an original album, "Quieting
Arms", and won an Emerald City Grammy and a First Place United
Way National Vocal Performance Award in New York City. She has
5 kids (two are singers) and helps her husband, Ron, run the Major League
School of Baseball Camps for Children. She is having "the time
of her life" - whatever that means! - singing with the Groove
Merchants! |
